A Pug is small in size, enormous in personality.

"Multum in parvo" (a lot in a small package).

It's intelligent, affectionate, passionate, playful and loves to be the center of attention.

Some say pugs are little clowns, they show off to make you laugh and love them even more. They will sometimes do very strange and funny looking things to get your attention.

They need human company, not to be left on their own for hours and, to be honest, need quite determined training which has to be a joint effort or they will try to run the house.

But you have to show them what to do - they are not mind readers, but they are very smart dogs. They will test you once and again to see if you give in and they get what they want.

They will try to hypnotize you with their big sad eyes, so that you give them more food (that's why there are so many overweight pugs)...

Or convince you to make room for them in your bed. (keep in mind that they snore when they sleep).

It's necessary to keep a firm hand with these little rascals that will try to control us with their loving looks.

They are great companion dogs that are loyal and loving and need to be near the people they love.

Pugs are sweet tender little dogs that adore their owners. They are great with the elderly and get along wonderfully with kids.

Even those that are a little hard on their pets as they are a tough robust dog.

They usually get along with other dogs but like any other dog they need to be socialized at an early age.
